instead of the usual beat it with a "knockometer"
destructive moves some make!
By
the way, some feel that a motor should be able to "take" these hammered
moves with a "knockometer" AKA sledge
hammer! Caution, you had better be thinking
about the brinelling that happens to the bearing races when you "influence"
the motor to move with that kind of force! Obviously you are aware that this
brinelling shortens the life of the bearings!

#1 Have you had an Optalign or Rotalign laser stolen? If so, please
be sure that you tell us or your local Prüftechnik AG Distributor that
it has been stolen as many systems have been reunited with their owners –
if they had been reported stolen in the first place! Call 704-233-9222

IMPORTANT
#2 We have seen several used lasers for sale on auction sites recently.
Unfortunately – some were stolen! Before you purchase a used laser, Rotalign®
Pro, Optalign® Plus, Optalign® V etc., get the serial numbers of the
major components – computer, receiver (or prism) and laser and if you
are in the United States call Ludeca, Inc., the US Distributor, at 305-591-8935.
Ask Ludeca to please verify that the owner of record is the person you are purchasing
this unit from or that the owner sold that system to the person or company you
are dealing with!
If
the seller will not give you the serial numbers – no matter
what reason they give you - do not buy the system! We
have heard everything from there is no serial number plate on the system to
the system was never given serial numbers! In several cases the seller would
not even respond to our request for serial numbers! All of our systems have
serial numbers! If the system does not have serial numbers – do
not buy the system!
Most
service providers know that the manufacturing plants require that the calibration
sticker be up-to-date! The calibration inspection service for Prüftechnik
AG lasers is performed in the United States by one company only, Ludeca, Inc.
of Doral, Florida. Ludeca is the only US company authorized by the factory
to perform calibration inspections. Ludeca has the proper certifications, calibration
lab and factory calibration equipment necessary to perform the required calibration
inspection. When Ludeca receives a system for calibration inspection or repair
from someone other than the owner of record, the owner of record will be contacted
– always! Who do you think the owner will call next? Have you heard the
song "Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do"?
If
the laser you purchased is stolen, you most probably will have to send it to
the rightful owner and you will never get your money back from
the seller! Incidentally, we have found that, in many cases, the seller was
not aware they were selling stolen merchandise!
